Equipment

  • Oven-safe skillet
  • Shallow bowls for breading
  • Tongs or a fork
  • Meat thermometer (optional but recommended)

Ingredients

  • 4 bone-in or boneless pork chops about 1 inch thick
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup Italian breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp garlic
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • In a shallow bowl, mix together the Parmesan cheese, Italian breadcrumbs, garlic salt, and pepper.
  • In a separate shallow bowl, beat the egg.
  • Pat the pork chops dry with a paper towel. Dip each chop in the beaten egg, ensuring it's fully coated.
  • Press the pork chops into the breadcrumb mixture, pressing down to ensure the coating sticks to both sides.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in an oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry the pork chops in the skillet for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • Transfer the skillet directly to the oven and bake for 10-15 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F (63°C).
  • Let the pork chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
