Equipment

Ingredients

Biscuits

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Bisquick baking mix
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon pepper
  • ½ cup unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley flakes

Garlic Butter Topping

  • 4 tablespoons butter melted
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley finely chopped
  • Pinch of salt omit if using salted butter

Instructions

Biscuits

  • Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, Bisquick baking mix, baking powder, salt and pepper.
  • Add the cold cubed butter to the bowl and use a pastry cutter (optional) or your fingers to cut the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese, minced garlic, garlic powder, and dried parsley flakes.
  • Gradually pour in the milk, stirring gently, until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix.
  • Transfer the dough onto a lightly floured surface. Knead it gently a few times to ensure all the ingredients are incorporated.
  • Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 1/2 inch. Use a biscuit cutter or a round cookie cutter to cut out biscuits from the dough. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each biscuit.
  • Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for about 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Once baked, remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes

Garlic Butter Topping

  • In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, and a pinch of salt.
  • Mix well until all the ingredients are thoroughly combined and evenly distributed.
  • Taste and adjust the seasoning if desired. You can add more garlic or parsley according to your preference.
  • Once the cheddar garlic biscuits are baked and still warm, spread the garlic parsley butter mixture generously on the tops of the biscuits.
  • Serve the biscuits while warm.
